Team Livingston: Jane Waters
It was inevitable that Jane Donlon Waters, RN, MSN would join the Livingston Board of Directors in 2016. Really, how could she not?
Jane is the great granddaughter of Livingston’s namesake, Dr. William R. Livingston. But more than the name, her qualifications alone would garner the attention of the Livingston BOD. She is a Registered Nurse and has a Master of Science, Nursing from St. Louis University. She was the Chief Nurse Executive at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo for five years. At the conclusion of her professional career, she joined both the St. John’s Community Board and Foundation Board and later served a term as the Chairperson of the Foundation. While on the St. John’s BOD, Jane also served as General Manager of her family’s business, Donlon Ranch in Somis. To add icing to the cake, she is married to Ed Waters, DNP, RN, CRNA who served on the Livingston Board from 2009 to 2014.
It may very well be that there has never been a Livingston Board Member who is more qualified to serve than Jane―destined might be a more accurate word.
It is no surprise that Jane is passionate about family legacies and community involvement. She has been a co-host, and the keynote speaker at more than one Livingston Donor Appreciation event. And once said, “By virtue of your support, you are passing down to your family the importance of giving back to the community. It is the legacy of giving and has a lasting effect on the future. The legacy of giving that you are leaving your children and grandchildren will allow Livingston to continue its mission for the next 65 years and beyond.”
