FAQ

What type of Care does Livingston CareGivers provide?

We provide Home Care, which is supportive, non-medical, personal care in the home by experienced Care Givers, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Home Health Aides. Assistance is provided to help with such daily tasks as bathing, dressing, eating, preparing meals, or whenever non medical help is needed.

How is Home Care different from Home Health?

Livingston’s Home Care is non-medical care and no physician order is needed; whereas Livingston’s Home Health is medical care provided by licensed medical personnel and requires a doctors order.

Who pays for Home Care?

The client and/or family pay for home care. Long term care insurance or workers compensation insurance may also pay for home care.

I want to stay in my own home but I can’t take care of myself like I used to, who can help me?

When taking care of yourself becomes difficult, it’s time to think about your options; either staying in your own home with help or going to an extended care facility. Of course, most everyone wants to remain in their own home, thus Livingston’s Care program is an alternative to a nursing home and allows you to remain as independent as possible, in the comfort and security of your own home.

I'm taking care of my husband who has Alzheimer’s disease, I’m exhausted and need a break, who can help?

Is care available for someone who is in an Assisted Living Facility, Nursing Home or even a Hospital?

Yes, many families are concerned about their loved one living in a facility as they may need additional care and attention. Livingston CareGivers can provide supplemental personal care which not only benefits the patient, but provides peace of mind to the family as well.

My elderly dad is progressively getting worse, what happens if he needs more care or medical intervention?

Fortunately, Livingston CareGivers is part of Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association which provides skilled medical care in the home. When we observe a client needing more care, we’ll discuss this with you and will offer some options. We can also discuss your dad’s needs with his physician if you like, and obtain an order for home health.

What are your current rates?

Care is customized and flexible to fit our clients' needs. A variety of shifts are available from a one hour bath package to twelve hour care, once a week or everyday. Rates are $25 per hour, with the exception of 1 and 2 hour shift premiums. Because our care is customized, it can be mixed and matched to meet your individual needs.
