Hospice Training Course

Calling all Angels

Do you believe in angels?  We do, and we know they exist because we see them every day. These angels are our Livingston Hospice Volunteers, and did you know they are part of more than 400,000 Hospice volunteers offering help and hope across the US?  We call our Hospice Volunteers, Hospice Angels, because that is exactly what they truly are.

You can be an angel too…you can make a difference… you can give the greatest gift of all … to those who need you the most. Become a Livingston Hospice Angel  and discover for yourself that giving to others in their time of need, is the greatest gift you can give, to them and to yourself.

The focus is learning new communication skills, exploring issues of grief and loss, sharing views of spirituality and understanding concepts of symptom management and end of life care. Participants will become acquainted with the hospice team, our medical director, hospice nurses, medical social workers, hospice chaplains, home health aides and other hospice volunteers.

Becoming a Hospice Volunteer takes just a few hours a week and makes an immeasurable difference to a patient and their family.  Providing relief to caregivers, visiting with patients, running errands, and just listening and being there are just a few of the ways volunteers can serve.
